La Salle is inspired by the exterior architectural details of the Rookery Building on LaSalle Street in downtown Chicago. The building’s exterior brick is covered in decorative elements that draw on a variety of influences, including Moorish and Romanesque motifs. The motifs are layered and mixed together, and that layering effect is an inspiration for this fabric design. Subtle, tonal colorations of the layered patterns maintain softness and the small scale keeps the pattern fresh and modern.
